About Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. They are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society.

Established in 1860, they're one of just a few animal rescue centres that run a non-selective intake policy. This means they accept any breed of animal, at any age, including dogs or cats with serious medical and behavioural problems.

The expert team of dog trainers and veterinary staff give the animals in their care the best possible chance of a fresh start in a happy new home.

Battersea work hard to educate the public about responsible pet ownership including microchipping, neutering and training. This includes educational talks and visits to schools and organisations, events, and publications

How this works:

5km, 10km & Half Marathon entry

1 - Your entry number should be attached and you can choose to print this out or simply keep it as a record of your entry number for when you submit your time. Please could you quote this number when you submit your times.

2 - You complete your race at a location of your choice anytime between the 1st and 31st December 2016, making sure you capture the proof with a screen shot of an app on your smart phone, or a photo of your GPS watch as evidence of your time, the distance completed and the date completed.

3 - To ensure you receive your medal you need to submit your evidence to either this e-mail: k9trailsports@hotmail.co.uk or on the Facebook Group: K9 Trail Sports no later than 7 days after the end of the month.

4 - You will then receive your medal posted to the address submitted when you entered.

All 5km, 10km and Half Marathon entries will count towards the championship table in each of the 4 disciplines and the quickest individual submission in 2016 for each distance in each discipline will win a prize at the end of 2016.

Additional information for Any Distance Entry

For the Any Distance Entry submission, please choose the furthest distance in one run you have covered in the month you have entered. If you could submit them in the same way as the regular distances, we will add them to the leaderboard based on distance first, then time (if more than one person has the same mileage at the end of the year then the time will determine the champion).

All Any Distance Entry submissions will count towards the championship table in each of the 4 disciplines and the top team (person and dog/s) covering the furthest distance throughout the year will win a prize at the end of 2016. So if you choose to only enter 4 months through the year, then only those 4 months will count. To give yourself the best chance of winning the Any Distance championship then you should submit your furthest distance for as many of the 12 months as you can.

Many thanks again for your entry and we hope you enjoy your virtual race! :-)
