Conditioning your dog has become a bit of a hot topic within the canicross community. People using methods that others claim are ‘old and outdated’ with others claiming that they clearly work because the results say as much. We are very keen to see fit, healthy dogs when we go to events. How to get a dog conditioned for the sport you take part in is very important, conditioning helps to reduce the risk of injury. However we are aware that dogs aren’t humans and just because we condition ourselves in training in a certain way does not mean that dogs are the same and so we have asked an expert a few questions on how we can go about safely conditioning our dogs for running in harness.
